Regatta Hiking Trail
Trail Map The Regatta Park Hiking Trail’s 0.5-mile circuit of trails offers a magnificent display of towering Sitka Spruce trees. Amongst this family of conifers is Lincoln City’s 400-year-old Nuu-k’wii’daa’naa~-ye’ Sitka Spruce or the “Heritage Tree,” which was inducted into Oregon’s Heritage Tree Program. Oregon industries logged most of these giants at the turn of 20th century, reserving this tree to seed a new forest and witness the development of Lincoln City. With public input, the City of Lincoln City named the tree in 2018, with respect to the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians of Oregon. The Nuu-k’wii’daa’naa~-ye’ (translated “Our Ancestor”) Sitka Spruce is Oregon’s 79th Heritage Tree.
